19 November 2013 The Princes in the Tower

Sam read about the Princes in the Tower today–poor Edward and Richard were imprisoned in the Tower of London by their Uncle, Richard, who was supposed to protect the throne for Edward but instead took it for himself. The princes disappeared and were presumed to have been murdered. Sam, of course, is fascinated by this gruesome tale and spent a long time today drawing all manner of treacherous obstacles that the princes might have encountered in the Tower. “And this is a one-eyed snake, Mommy!” But something about the way she drew the princes’ faces looks positively medieval to me.
