24 September 2013 Mini Pond Ecosystems

Today was the final day of the Lakes, Ponds and Rivers class at the Green Adventure Project. The kids had two challenges today: 1) make a water filter out of ordinary household materials and filter dirty pond water, and 2) construct a dam in the stream. Sam’s favorite thing about the class was that the teachers let the kids tackle the problems on their own. She came home muddy and happy.

She also came home with a very stinky mini pond ecosystem in a jar.
