7 August 2013 Truthfulness

We’re recently back from France so of course Sam is now obsessed with Chinese. It’s my fault. While we were in France I asked her what other languages she might like to learn. Chinese came up. So this week we started doing Play & Learn Chinese with Mei Mei, a dvd we got from the library. We also are using some free programs on YouTube, including the very hokey Learning Chinese is Fun. But the hokey program includes a character lesson in each episode and episode one showed Sam how to write the character for “truth” or “truthfulness.” She’s been inscribing this character on every available surface. Years from now, I’ll probably find it scratched on the furniture and wonder what she was trying to tell me…
