Glass Hollow Overlook

For my birthday I requested a hike and Indian food. I got those and much more. The hike around Dobie Mountain had something for everyone: vistas of many blue ridges of the Blue Ridge Mountains, deer sightings, salamanders, a fantastic creek crossing, a pretty posh AT shelter, and the wreckage of a small airplane that crashed sometime in 1964. Yeah, no kidding. The wreckage is just in the woods a little ways off the trail. 7 miles and my feet hurt. But then there was Indian food and a fantastically chocolately cake made by AC and Sam, following my great Aunt Ad’s recipe. A really nice way to celebrate far too many candles 🙂
