28 May 2013 Pottery at Parkday
A lot of folks came to our homeschooler park day on Tuesday and most of the kids headed for the cicada-humming woods just next to the playground. A group of them emerged at one point with quite the archaeological find: broken pottery pieces! (And by pottery I mean a smashed plate or bowl of some kind… pretty much 21st century 😉
So they brought the shards to a picnic table and proceeded to try to fit the pieces back together. The cool part is that one of them came up with the idea of using tree sap to glue the pieces. Back to the woods for tree sap! Sam later said, “Well, none of us had any glue. I think I should start carrying glue with me when I go in the woods…” I’m on board with that. That tree sap made for some pretty sticky hands.
