Ladybugs at Chec

Today was the final session of Sam’s class in drawing and painting medicinal herbs and insects at CHEC (Community Homeschool Enrichment Center). It was quite impressive to stroll past walls of ladybugs, katydids, ants, dandelions, plantain and other plants I’d never heard of before. In fact all spring Sam has been pointing out various plants I’d taken for weeds and said, “Oh, Mom, you can apply that to a bee sting.” “Oh look, there’s red clover. You can make a tea out of it” and so on. I’m quite happy this knowledge is being passed on to the younger generations. I’m a little less happy about drinking red clover tea, but hey, maybe I’ll develop a taste for it ;-).
