5 April 2013 Dismal Sales

This afternoon Sam and Susie went out again selling their homemade wares. This time they had help from a 5-year old friend. They went all around the neighborhood park with signs. They sang catchy jingles. They accosted nearly every kid at the playground. Only one was interested in buying a homemade puppet, but she had to ask her mom for 5 cents. She never came back.

But later in the day, the girls came up with a new money-making scheme. Apparently they are going to stage a play in our backyard tomorrow afternoon. (There goes my relaxing Saturday…) They made flyers and handed them out to the neighbors. Rehearsals went on until dusk. I think they’re serious. But will the crowds they envision come?
