Sam is sewing a rag doll of her own invention, with a little help from me. She’s been reading about children’s lives in colonial America and she wants to do everything girls did back then. Sewing was top on her list. Apparently candle-making is next.
“What do we need for candle-making?” I asked.
“Tallow,” Sam said.
“Where do we get that?”
We MAKE it, Mom,” Sam said. “From beef fat.”
Eww.
and this has me wondering who’s homeschooling whom now?
