2 June 2012 In Which We Take the Waters

George Washington bathed here. So have countless others. Berkeley Springs, also known as the town of Bath, is the oldest spa in America. The bubbling hot springs are a constant 74 degrees Fahrenheit. We started with a soak in the 102 degree old Roman Bath. After that experience, the waters in the outdoor pools felt right downright chilly. It was a refreshing way to celebrate my birthday. Taking the waters is supposed to be rejuvenating, right?
