Sam cooks

Sam’s latest obsession is cooking. She invents recipes, plans restaurants and pours over cookbooks checked out from the library. Kids cookbooks. No Mastering the Art of French Cooking for Sam… yet (thank goodness).

This evening she wanted to make an appetizer for dinner. She chose a recipe called “Cowgirl lunch” from Great Girl Food and adapted it to what we had on hand. It was basically a chicken, cheese and tomato wrap. She renamed her creation “Sam’s mini-burritos,” presented each slice on a plate, and stuck a toothpick through the center. Each toothpick had a little hand-drawn French flag taped to it.
