24 April 2012 Offer Accepted

We received a verbal acceptance of our offer to buy a house (the one with the backyard that Sam wants to live in) today! The above photo is a shot of the addendum we included with the written offer. As we were driving away from the house last weekend, Sam said, “I want to help pay for the house too. I can pay one dollar.”

Too. Cute.

So she wrote up her part of the offer, complete with a picture of herself in front of the house (it does have yellow siding), and we submitted it with our paperwork. Emotional manipulation? Maybe a little. But it worked! And we fully plan to have Sam appear at the closing to pay $1. Just as she was going to bed tonight, she said, “I think I’ll pay with four quarters.”
