4 September 2011 First Aid Kits

This time last year Sam was obsessed with the Narnia Chronicles. This year it’s science. Astronomy, Archaeology, Biology and especially the science of the human body. Since Sam reads on her own now, I have a harder time keeping track of what she reads, but she tells me that she’s exhausted the human body books in the kids section of our public library. Hence the giant book of human anatomy on her lap in a picture earlier this week. She begged me to take her to the “adult” section of the library that day and I caved. I also caved when she asked if we could host a “doctor” party for her 6th birthday in a couple of weeks. I have no idea how that’s going to go over with her little friends, but I do know that her guests will go home with homemade first aid kits that we put together today. Little Florence Nightingale was thrilled with this project. Watch out: everyone we know may get a first aid kit sometime this year.
