12 May 2011 Welcome to the Bent Spoon Garden
That’s its name because when we were preparing the garden bed we dug up a bent spoon. Also a pair of sunglasses, a broken pencil, a piece of a belt, some pennies, and other things which I mentioned previously here. Oh and the nozzle on the hose that Sam is wielding oh so provocatively? We dug that up out of the dirt too. This garden plot really was a treasure trove. We didn’t have hose nozzle and now we do. Dig and ye shall find.
In place of the treasure we’ve planted peas, lettuce, peppers and a tomato plant (thanks, Janet and Scottie!) We also planted the bent spoon. We’ll see what we find when we return in two weeks. Yes, tomorrow we leave for the Jersey Shore. Not great timing as far as the garden is concerned, but hey, at least the spoon should still be there.
