Mud Pyramids

Part two of making mud bricks. After we mixed up the mud yesterday we poured some into various different moulds, i.e. junk, that I happened to have lying around: egg cartons, plastic apple sauce containers, a plastic hummus container and a huge yogurt cup. We left all of these out to bake in the sun and today’s weather complied by making it nice and hot. Unpleasant for humans (OK, unpleasant for me) but good for bricks. The egg carton bricks popped out nicely as did the applesauce bricks. Yogurt and hummus are still soft, though.

Sam was pretty excited and immediately began to construct a pyramid city. However, it’s supposed to rain torrents tonight, and I rather suspect that the city will be soup by morning.
