26 April 2011 Storm

It’s been a long time since we’ve experienced a proper thunderstorm. They just don’t happen in the Bay Area. I think we had thunder once in Brighton last year, but it was short lived. This storm has been raging all evening now. First there was distant thunder. Then wind. Then a LOT of wind. Then rain. Then flashes streaking the sky and more thunder. Then hail. Then the wind blew the motorcycle cover off of the motorcycle. AC ran outside to catch it.

Then I took his picture as he walked back up the steps. He was outside for no more than a minute and when he returned he was drenched and shivering, hair and shirt soaked into his skin.

I refrained from posting THAT picture. In the interests of marital harmony, of course. You’ll just have to make do with this picture of the wind ripping the cover off the bike and trust me that when AC walked back inside the house, he looked like he’d just swum across the Channel in the middle of a storm.
