Sam and Cerys had their last playdate for a while. They spent the entire time building a trap, part of which is pictured above. They’ve been talking about traps for weeks: their idea is to trap their parents so that they can runaway together to America. This time last year when we left the Bay Area, Sam didn’t understand that it was going to be a while before she saw her friends again. This year at age five, though, she does. Watching the girls say goodbye to each other was heartbreaking.
