Reading to Friends

After French club the kids have a snack and then they explode into play. During the explosion phase, I was chatting to someone when one of the other parents grabbed me and pointed at the girls. I was quite pleased that Sam was reading to her friends, and surprised because it was a library book that I don’t think she’d read before.

I asked her about it later and she said, “Yeah I wasn’t sure about some of the words, but I think I figured them out.”

“Which book was it?”

Torch the Moon,” she said.

TORCH the Moon?”

“Maybe it was Touch,” she shrugged. “It wasn’t clear.”

No wonder Sam had a rapt audience.
