I Want My MTV
Remember that? We don’t have a TV anymore, but Sammy knows what videos are, and she knows that she can see little videos on our digital camera. She does not always believe us, however, when we tell her that we are shooting still pictures and not videos. A couple of weeks ago, AC was taking still photos of Sam and she pitched a fit, wanting to look at the video. So he took a video of her demanding to see a video. Then he showed her the video and all was well. Got it? Good.
I don’t like the still frame that YouTube chose for this video, as it shows a quite distressed Sammy. But maybe that’s okay. My readers can better appreciate that it’s not always sweetness and light in the home of the almost two-year old. (Cue cackling laughter from friends with older kids.) One interesting thing is that you can hear her make demands in a complete sentence (including a preposition!)
If you cannot follow toddler speech, here’s a transcription of the dialog:
Sam: “I look at video! I look at video! I wanna look at video!!”
AC: “You want to look at the video?”
Sam: “Okay.”
