Sunday Morning Reading
Sam’s current favorite pastime is to “read” books to herself in the morning. She’ll pull a book off of her bookshelf, put it on the couch, clamber up onto the couch, arrange herself with the book in her lap, then turn the pages while reading them in her most fluent gibberish. (Every now and then an English word will be peppered in the mix.) When she’s finished the book, she tosses it aside, then climbs down the couch to look for a new title.
Here she is reading her Grand-mère’s childhood copy of David’s Silver Dollar by Elizabeth Briggs Squires, a 1940 signed edition. (We have yet to get the story on that by Grand-mère). Two-thirds into the video you’ll see her point at a picture in the book and say “Coo! Coo!” She’s pointing at a scooter.
