Night #7

Wow, so this marks one week of Ferberization! Today was awesome. Sam did wake up last night around 2AM screaming bloody murder. We were supposed to wait 20 minutes before going to her, but after a minute, I said to AC, “This is going to be a long 20 minutes. It doesn’t sound like she is calming herself down.” So we went in to her early. She was standing up in the crib. We shushed her and patted her, and put her back down and left. Within a minute or two she was asleep. Amazing. We figure she really just needed to know that we were still there.

This morning I was sick of staying couped up the house to wait for the nap, so I took Sam on errands. She fell asleep in the car on the way home, and because we still use an infant car seat, I could bring her into the house without waking her. She stayed asleep for 3 hours!! From 11-2. So now I know she is capable of a long single midday nap. It just made lunch very late.

Bed tonight a little after 9, because we had a late dinner. She complained when we left, but was quiet and asleep within a minute.
