Night #6
Once again, an easy time putting Sam to sleep for the night. The previous night she slept 11 hours straight! Tonight I noticed that she clung to me when i was kissing her goodnight and she cried when she went into the crib (and cried for a minute or two when we left the room). It saddened me.
But 11 hours straight!
I experimented with daytime sleep today. On the theory that she is transitioning from two naps to one, I kept her awake through lunch. It wasn’t hard, but during lunch she did get fussy and tired rather quickly. So then I hustled her off to bed. She cried and chatted to herself and her stuffed animals off and on for 40 minutes before falling asleep. Finally. Then, a little over an hour later, the phone AND the doorbell rang at the same time! The phone call was a hang-up, and the doorbell was the UPS delivery guy, who is now on my hate list. Of course, the jarring noise woke Sam up, so I don’t know if she could have or would have slept longer.
I’m considering hanging a sign on the front door during Sam’s naps that reads: “Sleeping baby & sleep deprived mother inside. Ring the bell at your own risk.”
