Night #5
Today I pushed Sam’s nap back 1/2 hour to see what that would do. Plus: she did sleep longer (1.5 hours). Minus: she cried for 30 minutes before falling asleep! I checked on her after 15 minutes, and was about to declare the nap a failure at 30, when she suddenly quieted down and fell asleep. I’m still not sure what to do about her daytime sleep.
Nighttime sleep is going very well. She woke up on her own this morning around 7:15. We had her in the crib tonight at 8:40PM. She cried when we left the room, but within a minute she had calmed herself and was fast asleep.
One advantage of this new routine is that we have time to read her more bedtime stories. Tonight she picked “Owl Babies” and listened with rapt attention as her Dad read the voices of the baby owls–“Percy” with a southern accent and “Sarah” with an English accent.
