    Sam’s North Carolinian grandparents gave her a subscription to Highlights High Five magazine for Christmas. Sam loves these magazines. Each issue includes a kid-friendly recipe. Today she wanted to make the February “banana dippers” recipe. The recipe calls for peanut butter but we substituted sunflower seed butter. …

    Refurbished snow ladies after yesterday’s new snow. When I asked Sam what their names were, she said, “They’re called “Soldiers of the Sun.” Apparently the pine cone at the bottom of the soldier on the right is a sword.
