Then there are days like today when I take a ton of photos and then hesitate over which one to post as the photo of the day. I chose this one because it was one of my favorite moments: after a steep climb up a footpath in the Surrey Hills outside …

  • 9 September 2010 Six Months

    Sep 9, 2010

We’ve lived in the UK six months today. It feels like it’s been both longer and shorter than that. How I wish I knew where we’ll be six months from now.

  • 5 September 2010 Invitations to Narnia

    Sep 5, 2010

Sam figured out that there are 27 days till her birthday. So today we made party invitations. Yes, the cards are supposed to open up like wardrobes. My next task is to see if if I can turn one of our old moving boxes into a kid-sized wardrobe. After that, if I can get AC to dress up as a faun, our Narnia will be …

  • 4 September 2010 Beachy Head

    Sep 4, 2010

I love cliffs. Today we rode the bus to East Dean and then walked a little over 3.5 miles to Beachy Head via Birling Gap, just east of the Seven Sisters chalk cliffs. The walk is undulating: steep climbs lead to steep running descents. The final ascent brought us to Beachy Head, where AC snapped this photo.
